Who is responsible

Solu is provided by MAO Tech OÜ, Sepapaja tn 6, 15551 Tallinn, Estonia. For privacy questions or requests concerning your information, contact team@maotechnology.com and mention Solu.

What stays on your Mac

The breathing animation runs on your Mac. Your rhythm, visual and sound preferences, Unlimited Session history and local purchase status are stored on your device. Solu does not need access to your screen contents, microphone or camera to guide your breathing.

If iCloud settings sync is enabled in your build, selected preferences can be stored in your Apple iCloud account and synced between your Macs. Apple handles that storage under its own privacy policy.

Information sent over the network

Feedback you choose to send

Feedback includes your message, its category, a request identifier that prevents duplicate submissions, your app and macOS versions, and your language. A reply email is optional, except for team enquiries. We use this information to answer you, investigate problems and improve Solu. A local copy and any pending submission remain on your Mac.

App information and Unlimited Sessions

Solu requests app configuration and community updates from its service. To verify Unlimited Session timing, it requests the current UTC time from TimeAPI.io. The time request does not include an account or device identifier. These network services receive connection information, including your IP address, as part of handling the request.

Purchases

Apple processes purchases, subscriptions and restores. Solu uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to unlock your access. Your payment card details are not supplied to us. See Apple’s Privacy Policy for information about its services.

Usage counts

When enabled in the app’s configuration and in Settings, usage counts are sent to PostHog’s EU service. They describe events such as opening the app, using a feature or purchasing Unlimited, together with the app version, Unlimited status and, when available, App Store country. Events use individual event identifiers rather than a persistent user profile. Feedback text and reply email are not included.

You can turn usage counts off in Settings. This stops new uploads and discards pending counts. The current source configuration keeps analytics uploads disabled; the production setup and retention period must be verified before they are enabled.

The website and launch notifications

The website has no advertising trackers or analytics scripts and sets no tracking cookies. Visiting a hosted website still sends connection information to its host.

If you request a launch notification, our API stores your email and request time separately from app accounts. You must confirm your email before it joins the list. We use it only for one Solu launch notification, not a newsletter or advertising. The configured delivery provider is Resend; this local preview instead uses a private test mailbox and accepts only test addresses. No real mail is sent from the preview.

Confirmation links expire after 24 hours. Unconfirmed requests are removed from the live database after seven days; confirmed entries have a maximum retention of one year. Request and confirmation times record your choice. Short-lived keyed hashes support abuse limits for up to 24 hours; raw IP addresses are not stored by this signup feature. To withdraw your request or ask for deletion, contact team@maotechnology.com. Production mail-provider logs, backups and deletion after the launch still need operational verification before publication.

Why information is used

We use the information necessary to provide requested features, manage access and respond to feedback. Technical service operation and investigating problems serve our legitimate interests. Optional communications and any analytics that require consent must be based on that consent. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising profiles.

Storage and service providers

The feedback service is configured to remove live database records after 90 days. This is not a promise that every copy, including correspondence, logs or backups, disappears on that date. Those production retention periods still need confirmation.

Apple handles purchases and any enabled iCloud sync. TimeAPI.io provides the time check; PostHog is the configured provider for optional usage counts. Production hosting providers, their processing locations and any required international transfer safeguards must be documented before release.

Your choices and rights

You can use breathing features without creating a Solu account, keep feedback to yourself and switch off usage counts. To request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent us, contact team@maotechnology.com. Depending on your location and the information involved, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.

You may complain to your local data protection authority. In Estonia, that is the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate.
